Well THR is excited to present to you our latest 1989 Camaro IROC-Z, with an ultra rare 5-Speed Manual Transmission paired to the 305CI Tuned-Port Injection V8. If you're an F-body fan of a certain age, this was THE car to own, and here's your second chance.

Looking gorgeous in code gloss black paint, this IROC looks no where near three decades old! Finding an unmodified F-body is like finding an actress in Hollywood who hasn't visited a plastic surgeon, and it's obvious that someone tucked this car away for the future instead of getting caught up in the hot cams and loud exhaust systems. Today, there are no signs of significant bodywork or damage repairs. By 1989, GM had pretty much worked the bugs out of their water-borne paint delivery systems, and the finish quality of the cars was worlds better than it had been just a few short years earlier. Glossy and smooth, the paint really pops in the sunlight, and if you look at the reflections from the photo studio, you can get a good idea of how straight this car really is. Even the flexible urethane bumpers and rear spoiler are largely uncracked; something that inevitably happens if a car is driven in urban traffic.

In the horsepower department, this IROC is packing the 305 cubic inch tuned-port injection V8. This was the ONLY TPI engine option that would allow you to have the 5-Speed Manual Transmission providing a truly enjoyable driving experience.

The red cloth interior is, well, really red! It's a good compliment to the black paint, and is nicely broken up by the black leather steering wheel, dashboard and console. GM designers tried to keep things interesting by adding solid inserts where the seats wear the fastest, and I kind of like the vintage vibe it has in there. Look a little closer and you'll see that this Camaro is loaded up with options like power windows, power locks, and a power driver's seat, as well as the A/C I mentioned earlier. The headliner is taut and undamaged, the door panels are excellent, and the back seat appears to have never been used. Open the hatch and you'll find a perfectly preserved trunk area that still carries the original spare tire.

Imagine if you will, that it is 1990 and you had the opportunity to buy a low-mileage, beautifully preserved, and documented 1969 Camaro Z/28, for not a lot of money. Would you have done it?
